Portia and Calpurnia were two noble women during Julius Caesar's time period. They were both married to high officials of that time. Although there are many similarities between these two women, there are also differences. For example, their relationships with their husbands are polar opposites. Portia and Brutus are loving, caring, and treating each other equally. Portia had more authority in her marriage than most Roman women did. Calpurnia and Caesar's relationship is based on the normal Roman marriages. The man in the relationship was definitely in charge and the woman had little say in anything the man decided. This made it difficult for Calpurnia to really talk to Caesar about anthing serious. As anyone can see, there are many similarities and dffernces between Portia and Calpurnia.
